Dear Walkers
Our next walk will be at Bazian and will take place on Friday 9th November.
There is an option of TWO walks and you are very welcome to do both or either. We will meet at the Monument des Morts outside the cemetery.
5a - A modified circular easy walk of 5 kms starting at 10.30 am and
5b - A modified moderate walk of 11.5 kms staring at 14.00.
Bazian is an ancient medieval village with its 'porte' and chateau situated on the D174 which is located off the D34 Vic Fenzensac to Montesquiou road. The walks have outstanding panoramic views of the valleys of the Guirou and l'Auzoue and we will pass an abundance of old mills. The terrain is hilly and the amount of tracks v road walking is an estimation of 60/40 but the only main road is the D174 to the village which is about 0.5 km of walking.
Re-walk of Valence-sur-Baise - 12 kms
We will be re-walking the Valence-sur-Baise on Wednesday 14th November. We will meet at 10.30 am at the Abbey de Flaran. This is a moderate circular walk which takes us through ancient woods, past chateaux and past the ancient double lock of Graziac. We then visit the village of Herret with its splendid views and aerodrome and continue back towards the Abbey de Flaran (visits possible) with far reaching views of Valence in the distance.
If you would like to be included in either or all of these walks, please email
