About Us

My photo
Réans, Armagnac, 32 Gers, France
Our objective is to promote friendship between women of all nationalities living in Gascony, SW France, to share our interests and to offer help when needed. The Club started in 2008, with twenty English ladies living in Gascony, using a foreign language and experiencing a new life. Since then, several different groups have been added and our membership has grown into the hundreds, with new ladies moving to the area and ladies who have lived here a while, who have discovered us, who want to make new acquaintances and discover new areas of interest. Today we have eleven nationalities, and our speaking/working language is English. The GLC meets on the second Tuesday of each month, excluding July and August.Every member receives an email each month, giving the name of the restaurant, the chosen, menu and a booking form. In 2014, we became a non-profit making Association, known as Ladies Lunch Club de l’Armagnac and was re-named in 2019 to Gascogne Ladies Club. Our annual subscription fee of 10 € is payable in January each year. Each member of the Club may participate in some or all of our various groups

LLCA Garden Group meeting April 2015

Dear Gardeners,

The next garden visit is on

Thursday 2nd April 2015, 2.30 pm.

We will go directly to the

Le printemps, bientôt.

2 ter rte des Pyrénées
65500 Sanous
T/F : 05 62 31 62 12

meeting there at 2.30 pm for a look around and lots of interesting plant buying opportunities -
Pam will be bringing tea !

There have been some changes to the itinerary and the planned visit to le Jardin Massey in Tarbes has had to be cancelled. This is due to a variety of factors including the weather being a little cold for picnicking and the fact that most of the garden, including the café area is closed.

For any further information about the garden group of the LLC d l'Armagnac please contact LLCA secretary: lunchclubgascogne(at)gmail.com

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the 2nd,
Caroline & Pat

As you all might know, Sue Oglesby is moving away. She has handed over the running of the Garden Club to Pat Wright & myself so we will do our best to ensure that the group continues to be run as well as Sue has done it up to now.

I’m sure everyone will join us in wishing Sue all the best in her new home as well as a big thank you for all the work she has put into the group.

For any further information of the 2015 programme please see the blog page of the garden group.

Bookclub meeting March 2015

We felt the ‘Sister’s’ theme in the last bookclub meeting went well and we all chose interesting books.  I have listed the books below from the people who attended.
Thank you Jill for the delicious cakes.

For March bookclub,  we are meeting on
Thursday 19th, 2015
and the book suggested by Sue Martin is

Song of Time by Ian MacLeod.

April’s 2015 bookclub meeting will be after Easter on Thursday 16th when we are discussing Carol’s choice of
Middle Age: A Romance by Joyce Carol Oates.

It would be good to choose another theme, perhaps for June or July, so any ideas welcome.  Jill suggested some poetry which might be a nice idea – let’s discuss next meeting.

‘Sister’s’ Books:

Wise Children, Angela Carter
