LLC Walk 6 - Caupenne d'Armagnac

Our last walk for 2018 took place on Friday 28th December.  It was a moderate circular walk of 11.5 kms (with a variant of 8 kms) starting at the small village of Caupenne d'Armagnac which is located about 5 kms from Nogaro.

We walked past the church and the ancient 'lavoir' following a small lane.  Heading up towards the tracks, we passed a very large 'wetland' nature reserve which wasn't at all wet so unfortunately no migrating birds to see but it is possible to walk-around!

This was fairly flat walking (unusual for the Gers!) and we did see distant views of the Nogaro aerodrome and racing circuit en route.  We continued northerly towards Salles d'Armagnac and once we had crossed the Midou we did start to climb and then we made our way back to Caupenne.

At least we might have lost a few kilos from all the indulgent xmas food!

We are delighted to invite you to our special 

Christmas lunch at 12:00

on Tuesday 11th December 

at Le Pigeonneau, Riscle 

We will be treated to a fantastic menu and carols by our choir

 “The Gersabelles”.  We have always been looked after at this venue and have had an excellent Christmas meal last year. 

We hope that you can join us at this very popular event.  Please can you complete the form below to register your interest or let us know if you are unable to attend.  Please note that this venue can only accommodate 50 people.  Therefore, please book early to ensure that you reserve your place.  When we reach 50 your name will be added to a waiting list.

In order to celebrate Christmas together, LLC will be subsidising the cost for members.  Therefore, the cost for members is €20 (the cost for non members is €25). 

The deadline for booking is 5^th December, but will be closed sooner if we reach our maximum numbers.  As usual, I will send out the list of everyone who has booked before the 5^th November.

Members are welcome to sell Christmas related items at the lunch. Please let me know if you wish to sell something (cards, etc).  We also have our special frog raffle prize.

Details of the booking

• Numbers will be restricted to 50, so please book early. 
• The deadline for booking is 5^th December (or sooner if our maximum is reached)
• If you miss the deadline and we still have places please contact me and I will see if you can be included
• You will be charged if you cancel on or after Sunday 9^th December.
• Please replay to the email address at the bottom of this message if you are having problems with the email or feel that it may not have worked.  I will then add your details manually.
• The cost of this special lunch is €20 for members / €25 non-members.

The next lunch will be on the THIRD Tuesday in January – Tuesday 15^th January at Ferme de Flaran, Maignaut-Tauzia.

The AGM will be on 12^th February at the sale de Fete in Réans.

The March lunch will be on 12^th March at Le Falène Bleue, Lannepax.

November Lunch

We are delighted to invite you to the next lunch, which will be at:

 Le Commerce in Estang on
 Tuesday 13th November

We hope that you can join us as this very popular venue.  Please can you complete the emailed form to register your interest or to let us know if you are unable to attend.

Please note that this is a change from the recently advertised venue as we have had problems obtaining a satisfactory menu (and still don't have one).  Therefore, we asked Le Commerce at Estang to help us out and they have agreed to the following menu at very short notice, .  We are very grateful to them for helping us out at such short notice,  even though they are holiday the week before our lunch. 

The menu is as follows:

Tourte aux epinards et Fromage de Chevere 
(spinach and goat's cheese torte)

Roti de veau, haricots blancs 
(roast veal with white beans)

Pave de Saumon 
(salmon)

Soupe de poires, glace vanilla et Chantilly 

(Pear soup with vanilla ice cream and Chantilly cream)

The cost is €18 including wine (without tea or coffee)
